Week 4
Welcome to “DaCosta’s Down” the new, weekly NFL and UCC football update. In the weekly update I will provide a quick synopsis of certain games, and will change the teams that I write about each week. The scores will always be listed, even if I do not describe that game.

UCC Football
Varsity football – 15 Sac – 11
The Varsity Football team won their third victory of the season (second regular season victory) in a defence battle against St. Andrews College on October 1st, at SAC’s homecoming. The Blues offence scored two touchdowns. A receiving touchdown by #1 Juwan Edghill on a terrific deep ball from #6 Jay Williams. #28 Rasheed Tucker added the second blues score on a thirty yard run. The defence played very well, holding the Saints offence to only one touchdown. Lead my #29 Max Barbeau, who had 2 crucial interceptions. The Blues defence made key stops when it mattered most. SAC had the ball twice with less than three minutes left but was unable to garner any points on those possessions.
The Varsity team is back in action on a very short week. They play at SMC on Wednesday, October the 5th, at 3pm.

Junior Varsity team 18 – TCS 14
JV football won in a very exciting game @SAC’s homecoming,18-14. “We Scored a 25 yard TD pass with 6 minutes left to win. The Blues had 2 TD passes , one rouge and 2 safety’s”
The Blues are back in action at “Battle of the Blues” on Friday, October 14th. The JV team starts at 5pm.

Jag’s aka the NFL team that continues to play in the UK, won in a great match over the Colts. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell told a UK fan that he “does see an NFL franchise in the UK.”

The Bill defence played fast and ferocious, picking apart the rookie QB Jacoby Brissett. Rex Ryan always makes a good gameplan when playing the Pats, and this game was no different. The Pats went were atrocious on 3rd downs. The bright spot for the Patriots was that their defence held the Bills offence to 16 points. This is the last Patriot game without Tom Brady, so the rematch between these teams on October 30th will be an interesting one.

The Browns are the only winless time in the NFL.

For the second straight year (if you watch All or Nothing) the Rams came in to the Cardinals’ house and got a victory.

Drew Brees played his first game back in San Diego when he was a part of the Chargers in 2005.

Viking defence showed up again. Holding Odell to his lowest receiving yards production in his NFL career. The Vikings remain undefeated, and no one expected it.

No name: Can you add CFL reports to DaCosta’s Down?
Thank you for tuning in! I thank you for the suggestion, however I do not watch enough CFL or follow enough CFL football to provide game reviews. However, one thing that I can do is add a “rule a week” section where I add a CFL rule to DaCosta’s Down. As I play in a league with CFL rules and as displayed last week in the NFL by Ty Montgomery, knowing the rules are important to being successful. Please send your thoughts regarding the addition of a “rule a week”
