- Reggae Got Soul Toots and the Maytels (Album: Reggae Got Soul). Key reggae bands of the century – just so many great hits. This one always makes me want to dance.
- Give up the Funk Parliament Funkadelic (Album: Mothership Connection).
- Mushaboom Feist (Album: Postal Service Remix).
- Crossroads Cream (Album: BBC Sessions). Blues influenced rock and roll = magic with a killer solo.
- You Enjoy Myself (YEM) Live Phish Volumes 7, 9, 11, 14, 15, and Live Phish 4-5-98. Anastasio and Gordon jumping on trampolines in tandem was one of the coolest things I’d ever seen at a concert. That, and the light show they put on. An amazing jam song that can be found on many of their live albums!
- Soul Man Sam & Dave and Blues Brothers.
- Uncle John’s Band The Grateful Dead (Album: Workingman’s Dead). An acoustic/blue-grass counterculture gem.
- Under African Skies Paul Simon (Album: Graceland). Just one of so many beauties.
- All Along the Watch Tower Jimi Hendrix (Album: Experience Hendrix – The Best of Jimi Hendrix).
- Groovin’ Slowly John Butler Trio (Album: Grand National). A gorgeous and quirky little love song by one crazy talented guitarist.
