Super Bowl 59, a rematch between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs was an amazing game to all.
First of all, lets note some key players on both rosters:
- Saquon Barkley (Running Back For the Eagles):
Barkley was traded to the Eagles by the Giants at the start of the year, and that proved to be one of the best choices for the Eagles, as he has rushed for over two thousand yards this year, almost beating Eric Dickerson’s All-Time Record and being the ninth Running Back to cross the two thousand yard rushing season. Barkley has become a cornerstone of the Eagles offence this year, and a nightmare for all defences alike.
- Patrick Mahomes (Quarterback For the Chiefs):
Regarded by many as one of the most interesting Quarterbacks to play the game, Patrick Mahomes is returning to his fifth Superbowl, hoping to win again to complete the elusive three-peat (three consecutive wins), which no NFL team has won before.
Coin Toss:
- The Chiefs picked tails, and they won the coin toss. They chose to kick to the Eagles.
First Half:
The Eagles started with the ball first, starting at their own 30 yard line. After a 4th down catch by A.J Brown was called back, the Eagles decided to punt the ball, giving the ball to the Chiefs. They also couldn’t get things going, and also punted the ball. The Eagle’s second time with the ball proved to be much better, scoring the first touchdown of the game through a great offensive drive. The Chief’s second time with the ball resulted in a punt. Cooper DeJean, a rookie defensive player scored a Pick-Six after Patrick Mahomes threw an interception to him, making the score 17 to nothing for the Eagles at the time. Patrick Mahomes threw another interception, this time to Zach Baun, a Linebacker for the Eagles. The Eagles scored another touchdown, making the score 24-0 Eagles at the half.
Halftime Show:
This halftime show featured Kendrick Lamar, and SZA. Kendrick performed many well known songs like HUMBLE, peekaboo, Not Like Us, and tv off. This was a pretty peak halftime show in my opinion, it was very good.
Second Half
The Chiefs started with the ball this time. Down 24 points, they had to make a move quick to create some momentum. The Chief’s first drive wasn’t successful, ending in a punt. After a great run by Jalen Hurts and a great catch by Saquon Barkley, the Eagles set themselves up perfectly for another touchdown. They couldn’t achieve it, but they at least sent out the field goal unit to get the easy three points, making the lead 27-0. After that, on the first play of the offensive drive, Jalen Hurts connected with Devonta Smith for ANOTHER touchdown for the Eagles, making the lead 34-0. The Chiefs finally put themselves on the scoreboard after a touchdown to Xavier Worthy. Another kick made by Jake Elliot, the Kicker to make the lead 37 – 6. With 10 minutes left, the pressure got to Mahomes and he fumbled, which was recovered by the Eagles. ANOTHER Eagles kick to make the lead 40-6, JESUS MAN. I thought the eagles were gonna lose but DANG MAN, they turned that around! Mahomes threw ANOTHER PICK, which was called back. In the last two minutes left, the Chiefs scored another two touchdowns, with the score now 40-22.
Ending Thoughts
As soon as this game started, I knew it was over. this new Eagles team is unstoppable man..
