Remembrance Day, which occurs on November 11th of each year, is Canada’s memorial day to recognize the sacrifices made by armed forces members who served in the military, particularly those who lost their lives during conflicts. Many UCC old boys are veterans, and are celebrated through moments of silence, the laying of wreaths, and recitations of “The Last Post”, which was beautifully played by Nico Aitken on the trumpet.

The day serves as a reminder of the cost of war, and emphasized the fact that it is important to promote peace and reflection on those who fought for freedom and the values that Canadians hold dear. Remembrance Day 2024, was a time for individuals and communities to come together, to show respect and gratitude for veterans and active service members.
